Clifton Gardens on Chowder Bay, is a beachside oasis in the affluent Harbour suburb of Mosman. The netted beach, long jetty and gentle waves make it an ideal place to swim and snorkel for all ages. The huge grassy reserve is perfect for picnics with stunning views over the Eastern suburbs. There are also headland walks through the Sydney Harbour National park, north to Middle Head (2.5km one-way) or south to Bradley's Head (4km one-way) or Taronga Zoo (5km one-way)
The heritage submarine miners’ depot on the northern end of the beach has been converted into a popular waterfront restaurant, Ripples Chowder Bay. Rock art from the Borogegal tribe, the original custodians of Mosman can still be seen.
